Overview
What this trip is.
Hell's Gate sits just south of Lake Naivasha, between two volcanic cliffs. Because there are no resident large predators in the main area, you can explore it on foot or by bicycle — which is unusual enough in Kenya to be the whole point of going.
The Ol Njorowa gorge at the far end is a narrow red-walled canyon with hot springs running through it, walked with a local guide. Buffalo, zebra, eland and Thomson's gazelle move through the open ground, and the cliffs hold vultures and Verreaux's eagles.
