This route covers the three Kenyan parks most travellers arrive wanting to see, and gives full days to the two that reward them: the Maasai Mara and Amboseli.
It also covers a lot of ground — from the western grassland, north into the Rift Valley, then south to the Tanzanian border country beneath Kilimanjaro. The transfers are real, and the itinerary is built so that each long drive is followed by a day that stays put.

Day 1Nairobi → Maasai Mara
Down into the Rift and across to the Mara.
Morning collection in Nairobi and the drive west over the escarpment, with a viewpoint stop and a break at Narok. Lunch at camp, then an afternoon game drive.

Day 2Maasai Mara
A full day on the plains.
Out after breakfast with a picnic lunch and back as the light drops. This is the day that makes the trip: enough time for your guide to follow a sighting rather than move on from it.

Day 3Maasai Mara → Lake Nakuru
North along the valley floor.
An optional early village visit, then breakfast and the drive north past Longonot and Naivasha with lunch on the way. A short game drive on arrival takes you through Nakuru to your lodge.

Day 4Lake Nakuru → Amboseli
Rhino at dawn, the mountain by evening.
A morning game drive at Nakuru for rhino and lake-shore game, then the long drive south around Nairobi and on towards Amboseli. It is the biggest transfer of the trip, and it ends with the plains opening out beneath Kilimanjaro.

Day 5Amboseli
A full day with the herds.
Out early while the mountain is clear, working between the dry plains and the permanent swamps where elephant, buffalo and hippo gather. Observation Hill gives a rare chance to get out and see the whole park at once.

Day 6Amboseli → Nairobi
A last drive, then the road north.

How long is the drive from Nakuru to Amboseli?
It is the longest sector of the trip and takes most of a day, routed around Nairobi. We break it with a lunch stop and arrive in Amboseli in time for the evening.
Is the price per person?
Yes. Published rates are per person sharing a twin or double room. Solo travellers pay a single-occupancy supplement, which we quote with the rest of the trip.
What does the final price depend on?
Travel dates, the number of people travelling, your accommodation tier, park fees at the time of travel and vehicle arrangements. We reprice every enquiry for the exact dates rather than working from a fixed sheet.
Can the itinerary be changed?
Yes. The route below is the standard shape of the trip. Nights can be added or moved, and destinations can be swapped, as long as the driving distances still work.

What vehicle will we use?
Road safaris use a 4×4 Safari Land Cruiser. Private departures have their own vehicle; group departures share the vehicle with fellow travellers.
