Seven days is where a Kenyan circuit stops feeling like a highlights reel. This route gives full days to both the Maasai Mara and Amboseli, keeps Nakuru for rhino, and uses Naivasha as the pause between the two halves of the trip.
The shape is deliberate: three days moving north and west through the Rift Valley, then a change of direction south to the border country beneath Kilimanjaro. Each long transfer is followed by a day that stays in one place.

Day 1Nairobi → Maasai Mara
Down into the Rift and across to the Mara.
Morning collection in Nairobi, west over the escarpment with a viewpoint stop, then Narok and the reserve. Lunch at camp, then out for an afternoon game drive.

Day 2Maasai Mara
A full day on the plains.
Out after breakfast with a picnic lunch and back as the light goes. The reserve's track network lets your guide move between the open grassland and the riverine forest rather than working one area.

Day 3Maasai Mara → Lake Nakuru
North along the valley floor.
An optional early village visit, then breakfast and the drive north past Longonot and Naivasha with lunch on the way. You check in at Nakuru in the afternoon.

Day 4Lake Nakuru → Lake Naivasha
Rhino in the morning, water in the afternoon.
A morning game drive at Nakuru for rhino, Rothschild's giraffe and lake-shore game, then lunch and a short transfer to Naivasha. The afternoon is open for a boat ride among the hippo, arranged locally.

Day 5Lake Naivasha → Hell's Gate → Amboseli
On foot at Hell's Gate, then the long swing south.
After breakfast you leave Naivasha for a nature walk in Hell's Gate National Park, one of the few Kenyan parks you are allowed to explore on foot. Buffalo, zebra, eland and Thomson's gazelle move between the cliffs, and cycling is available as an option. After lunch on the way, the road runs south past Nairobi towards the Tanzanian border, reaching Amboseli in time for dinner.

Day 6Amboseli
A full day with the herds.
Out early for the mountain, then a day worked between the dry plains and the permanent swamps where elephant, buffalo and hippo concentrate. Observation Hill gives a view across the whole park.

A last drive, then the road north.

Is a week too long in one country?
Not in Kenya. This route covers grassland, alkaline lake, fresh water and semi-arid plains, which are four genuinely different environments with different species lists.
Is the price per person?
Yes. Published rates are per person sharing a twin or double room. Solo travellers pay a single-occupancy supplement, which we quote with the rest of the trip.
What does the final price depend on?
Travel dates, the number of people travelling, your accommodation tier, park fees at the time of travel and vehicle arrangements. We reprice every enquiry for the exact dates rather than working from a fixed sheet.
Can the itinerary be changed?
Yes. The route below is the standard shape of the trip. Nights can be added or moved, and destinations can be swapped, as long as the driving distances still work.
